Hey everybody, Merry Late Chryslerolidays and New Year’s to ya.

Hope it was good, mines was kinda ass because I spent most of that time being sick with the flu, and I had family over, so I was physically and mentally exhausted at the end of it.

I did get some good shit this year though, a Retroid Pocket 3+, Grados 60e headphones, and a potato cutter.

Yes I’m excited about a fucking potato cutter, this is a homemade fries family.

I also decided to spend December taking a break from commissions and to draw for myself.

I also spent a lot of time not drawing, I took some time for my mental health.

I also got really fucking high.

So yeah, I had sometime to reflect and I’m ready to move forward.

I’ve been busy with my comics behind the scenes:

I’ve got BombSquad Chapter 4 sketched out, I’m going to start working on premade backgrounds and then start completing pages from there, in the meantime I’m going to repost pages again to reintroduce the series, I deleted them awhile back because I was feeling demotivated and frustrated from the lack of engagement on the pages, combined that with Three Seconds to Legend going on hiatus, having to scramble to commissions full time to barely make any sort of profit , trying too hard to appeal to Social Media Algorithms, and DA’s implementation of AI adding to my paranoia, my momentum drained after that.

But I’ve cleared my head and I’m ready to try again.

I’m writing JHPW pages down, I’ve been making much better progress with it now that I’ve scrapped the initial “write it like a full wrestling show.” that shit is too involved with what little time and resources I got, so that’s not fucking happening.

Instead I’m writing it like wrestling video games where the focus is on a specific character or story at that moment, with lots of time-lapses. It’s honestly working out better as I have over 80 pages written out.

I plan to get pages done by swapping the workload between BombSquad.

Now onto Willow, I’m not clever enough to write gag a day comics, so I’m going back to smaller stories, it just works better for me once I have a solid idea down, in addition to posting the completed Willow pages again,I have a new Willow page ready.

I’m also getting ready to make more smaller scale comics, as well as starting the writing process for another project that won’t come anytime soon.

I hope to start streaming full time again in 2024, I’ll start working on the boxing pics I have sketched out to get things going, I’m going to figure out something with switching between Twitch and Picarto depending on whether or not I want to listen to copyrighted music at that time lmao.

Commissions will open later today.

I REALLY want to figure out a print shop this year as well.

So there you have it, it’s 2024, I’m all out of fucks to give and I’m ready to go.

The last of my backlog and Commissions are closed, so I'm going to use this journal to announce a break until next year.

I'll admit I'm mentally drained, too much uncertainty going on when it comes to art, there's only so much scraping by with fetish commissions and lack of engagement overall I can take, I feel like not posting my art anymore sometimes.

I love drawing, but I hate posting it to empty social media hubs, I'd rather just show my art to mutuals on Discord at this point.

So I'm just gonna take the rest of the year to clear my head and figure things out from there.

Later.

Yo.

So I'm taking a Hiatus, a real one this time.

Yeah I know it looks sudden after posting a whole bunch of references, but I've been planning to for awhile.

I'll still be taking commissions, in September, because I still need to pay bills.

First thing is that I haven't been feeling my coloring as of late, it's inconsistent, so I want to take some time to simplify it, I'm looking to embrace my line work and flat colors more andI want to figure out some shading that won't come out muddy, I'm still on the fence with textures, some pics they come out vibrant and I love them, on other days it gets in the way.

I've been inking with the stabilizer down too, not completely at zero but enough to loosen the lineart better.

So a far as the technical things go, that's mainly it.

--------------

On the personal side, I'm mentally drained trying to post of multiple sites and trying to see what sticks, the art scene is fucking ass at times, and I understand some artists I've seen wanting to quit.

I've kinda been in the same boat, I just feel... there you know. I've been making art for awhile and the only thing keeping me relevant is fetish and wrestling, so whenever I do anything besides that no one really gives a shit.

Hey, don't get it twisted, I love that shit, I just wish personal projects got as much love, but people aren't obligated to do that.

However, don't get me started on the "dO WhAt U LoV" crowd, as they get engagement with their fellow 10K or 20K high school clique buddies, it's easy to say that when the algorithm benefits you. Everyone craves some sort of engagement, popularity and clout does not mean engagement.

And then I just, have a love/hate relationship with DeviantArt, on one hand, social media hates artists so much that I gotta keep my eggs in many baskets, on the other, DA is just feels like a chore to use, to browse, to anything...really.

But that's how far I'll go with that rant, I just needed to get that out of my system, I've been holding it in for awhile.

--------------

So instead of getting even more bitter, I'm just gonna take a step back and look at things, see where I want to go.
